EAGLE II HISTORY

Year Built

Originally built in Mobile Alabama in 2001 to American Bureau Shipping standards as a double hull Floating Production Storage Offshore barge fitted with an extensive assortment of equipment including a 3-stage degasser/separator. The vessel was initially owned by a Texas based oil and gas exploration company who immediately chartered it to a Trinidad National Oil company ‘Trinmar Marine” as a test barge.

Upgraded Compressor

In 2003 the barge was upgraded with a natural gas compressor to enable the separated gas to be captured, compressed and pumped ashore.

Refurbished

In 2013 – new owners dry docked and refurbished the vessel with new equipment and renewed substantial steel hull plating. The vessel was then deployed offshore and processed crude oil continuously for nearly five years until 2018 when she was removed from service and ‘laid up’ until 2022.

New Owner & Complete Upgrade

2022 – 2023 vessel was sold and new owner and completely refurbished. During drydock the hull was blasted to bare metal and repaired with seven tons of new hull plating. All machinery, valves, structures, and electrical distribution systems were disassembled and rebuilt or replaced with new equipment. Crew accommodations were upgraded and all diesel engines rebuilt including natural gas engine. All critical equipment independently tested and recertified.

2023 Refit

Included removal and rebuilding of every component including the following:
  • Installation of new 500 KW diesel generator – in sound box
  • New 150 KW generator - in sound box
  • New distribution panel and refurbishment of all electrical controls
  • New explosion proof motors
  • Refurbished heat medium system including new elements and thermostatic controls
  • Rebuilt hot oil circulation pumps with Ex motors
  • New rebuilt 8-cylinder Superior White gas engine
  • New finned tubes in 3 each gas coolers
  • Rebuilt Superior White two stage gas compressor
  • New US Coast Guard Marine Sanitation Devise – 12 man
  • Rebuilt fire pumps, 3” electric primary and 4” diesel emergency back up
  • Rebuilt 21 stage oil cargo pumps
  • Rebuilt 6V92 Detroit Diesel engines driving cargo pumps
  • Rebuild mooring winches (2 ea) with new 471 GM Engines
  • Newly rebuild reverse osmosis (RO) unit producing XX gallons fresh water pd
  • Entire deck and hull sandblasted to near white and coated with Jotun Hardtop epoxy
  • Fire and safety equipment upgraded, including fire suppression and water deluge system
  • New HMI and calibrated PLC
  • New crew lounge with two extra bunks, additional toilet installed
  • New freshwater pumps and motors
  • Installation of new 2” pneumatic diaphragm pumps – 3 each
  • New refrigerator, freezer and washer and dryer, undercounter RO for tap water
  • Enlarged storage locker for spare parts
  • All new lighting on deck
  • All valves, actuators, level indicators, float switches and most of the piping removed and
    serviced
  • Overhaul and certification of 3 ton knuckle telescopic crane
  • All pressure vessels, scrubbers, and tanks opened, inspected, tested and certified
  • Double bottoms opened, inspected, washed, primed and painted
  • Hull fortified with new frames and 7.5 tons of new steel and new hardwood fenders
